Before moving any MCC-supported equipment, contact MCC and provide the new physical location.

Copiers, printers, mailing systems, telecom equipment, security devices, and audio visual systems may require special preparation, transportation, reinstallation, or configuration. Moving equipment without the proper handling can cause damage, connection problems, or service interruptions.

Contact MCC Before the Move

Notify MCC before moving the equipment, even if the move is only to another room, floor, building, or office location.

Provide:

  • Business name
  • Contact name
  • Phone number and email address
  • Equipment model
  • Equipment serial number
  • Current physical location
  • New physical location
  • Planned move date
  • Whether the equipment is moving within the same building or to a different address
  • Any access restrictions at either location

Updating the physical location helps MCC maintain accurate service, dispatch, billing, and equipment records.

MCC Can Move the Equipment for You

If needed, MCC can professionally move the equipment to the new location.

MCC equipment moves include a base $150 truck charge, plus labor required to prepare, transport, and reinstall the system.

Before the move, MCC will provide a quote showing the expected charges. The final cost may depend on factors such as:

  • Equipment type and size
  • Distance between locations
  • Stairs, elevators, or loading access
  • Number of systems being moved
  • Disassembly or special handling requirements
  • Reinstallation or configuration needs
  • Time and labor required

The move will not be scheduled until the quote and necessary details have been reviewed.

Why Professional Moving Matters

Many business systems are heavier and more complex than they appear. They may contain sensitive components, removable accessories, internal fluids, finishing units, network settings, or installation requirements.

Having MCC move the equipment helps reduce the risk of:

  • Physical damage
  • Broken trays or finishing equipment
  • Internal component damage
  • Improper lifting or transport
  • Network and connection problems
  • Equipment being installed incorrectly
  • Avoidable downtime after the move

Moving the Equipment Yourself

You may choose to move the system using your own employees or another moving company. However, any damage or operating issue caused by the move will not be covered under the MCC service agreement.

This may include:

  • Damage during lifting or transport
  • Broken exterior panels, trays, or accessories
  • Internal damage caused by tilting or improper handling
  • Problems caused by incorrect disassembly or reassembly
  • Connection issues caused by the relocation
  • Damage caused by unsuitable transportation
  • Service required because the equipment was dropped, struck, or improperly secured

Repairs related to move damage may be billable.

The New Location May Need Preparation

Before moving the system, confirm that the new location is ready.

Depending on the equipment, this may include:

  • Correct electrical outlet
  • Network connection
  • Phone or data connection
  • Adequate space and ventilation
  • Stable, level flooring
  • Appropriate doorway and elevator clearance
  • Nearby access for users and service technicians
  • Approval from your IT provider
  • Security or building access arrangements

For network-connected equipment, your IT provider may need to prepare the new network connection or update IP addresses, firewall settings, print drivers, scan destinations, or user access.

Moving to a New Business Address

If the equipment is moving to another address, MCC may also need to update:

  • Physical service location
  • Dispatch instructions
  • Equipment records
  • Billing or shipping information
  • Branch or account assignment
  • Tax jurisdiction
  • Network and contact details

Be clear about whether the move changes only the equipment location or also changes your billing address.

After the Move

After the equipment is moved and reinstalled, test the functions your team regularly uses.

This may include:

  • Printing
  • Copying
  • Scanning
  • Scan to email
  • Network access
  • Phone calls
  • Voicemail
  • Camera feeds
  • Door access
  • Mailing functions
  • Audio, video, or conferencing features

If MCC completed the move, the technician will address the installation and testing included in the quoted work.

If you moved the system yourself and experience problems afterward, contact MCC for service. Charges may apply if the issue was caused by the move.
