MCC provides and supports Quadient postage meters. If your meter is running low on postage, you can add funds directly from the machine.

Adding postage is sometimes called adding funds or loading funds. These terms all refer to the same basic process: moving available postage funds onto your meter so you can continue processing mail.

Before You Start

Before adding postage, make sure:

  • Your postage meter is powered on
  • The meter is connected to the network or phone connection used for postage downloads
  • You know how much postage you want to add
  • You have supervisor access or the required PIN, if your system asks for one
  • Available funds are on the postage account

If your meter cannot connect, the postage download may not complete.

How to Add Postage on a Quadient iX Series Meter

The exact screen may vary slightly by model, but the general process is the same.

  1. From the home screen, open the Funds or Funds Menu option.
  2. Select Add Funds.
  3. If prompted, enter the supervisor PIN and press OK.
  4. Enter the amount of postage you want to add.
  5. Review the amount carefully.
  6. Confirm the transaction.
  7. Wait for the meter to connect and download the funds.
  8. When the transaction is complete, verify that the new postage balance appears on the meter.

Do not turn off or unplug the meter while postage is being added.

How to Add Postage on a Quadient iS Series Meter

The iS Series meters use a similar process.

  1. From the home screen, open My Funds or the Funds menu.
  2. Select Add Funds.
  3. If prompted, enter the supervisor PIN and press OK.
  4. Enter the amount of postage you want to add.
  5. Confirm the amount.
  6. Allow the meter to connect to the funds server.
  7. Wait for the download to finish.
  8. Check the meter balance to confirm the postage was added.

Button names may vary by model, but you are looking for the funds menu and the Add Funds option.

Important Notes

Only add the amount of postage you need. Once postage is loaded onto the meter, it is tied to that meter.

Your system may ask for a PIN before funds can be added. If you do not know the PIN, check with your internal mailing system administrator or contact MCC for help.

The meter must be able to connect before postage can be downloaded. If the meter cannot connect, check the network or phone connection and try again.

What to Do If Postage Will Not Load

If your meter will not add postage, check the following:

  • Is the meter powered on and fully started?
  • Is the network cable, phone line, or connection active?
  • Is your internet service working?
  • Did the meter ask for a PIN?
  • Was the correct postage amount entered?
  • Are funds available on the postage account?
  • Did the screen show an error message?

If an error message appears, write it down or take a photo before clearing it.

When to Contact MCC

Contact MCC if:

  • The meter will not connect
  • The postage download fails
  • The meter shows an error message
  • You do not know the supervisor PIN
  • Funds were added but the balance did not update
  • You are unsure how much postage is available
  • You need help with a Quadient iS or iX Series meter

When contacting MCC, include your business name, contact information, meter model, serial number, and a description of the issue.
